Keywords:
Primary Healthcare, Health Situation AnalysisAbstract
Introduction: This research, conducted by the General Medicine Residency at the General Zonal Acute Hospital Dr. R. Gutiérrez, presents the findings from the initial phase of the Health Situation Analysis in the quarter of Villa Catella, Ensenada, during the months May-June of the year 2023. To describe the socio-sanitary
characteristics impacting the community's process of health-disease- attention- care, territorial surveys were carried out.
Materials and Methods: A mixed-methodology was proposed, combining qualitative and quantitative with an approach that included descriptive, exploratory, and analytical elements and a flexible type design. A total of 106 households were surveyed,
encompassing a population of 420 individuals. An innovative structured digital survey was employed, along with direct territorial observation, systematized meetings with residents of the neighborhood, and interviews with community leaders. Evaluated dimensions included housing conditions, population
demographics, socioeconomic variables, health status, healthcare system accessibility, and community aspects.
Results and Discussion: The findings revealed a predominantly young population, with 80% of surveyed households living below the poverty line, and 50% of these in extreme poverty.
Environmental issues and drug- related problems were perceived as major concerns, significantly affecting community health,
hindering recommended health check-ups and preventive practices among adults.
Conclusions: This research fostered closer engagement with the community and contributes to improving the local health system. The findings provide a basis for planning health promotion strategies, preventing prevalent diseases, and implementing community interventions from the data obtained, as well as addressing and resolving principal health demands at the first
level of care.
